Direct Support Professional II

Every person needs the support of others, but we look for very special people to support individuals with disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional with People's Care you’ll be one of those special people.
DSP are the link to the community for those they serve. For some, they may be the eyes of those unable to see, or the voice for those who can’t speak. For others, they are friend, cheerleader and subtle support on the path to one’s true potential.
For People's Care the DSP is one of the most exemplary reflections of the wonderful mission driven work we do here every day. The people that carry out this rewarding, care giving support play an integral and crucial role in the quality of life for our consumers.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED, CPR/FA, CPI certification, DSP 1 & 2
Minimum Experience: Preferred 6+ months professional or personal experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities (e.g. Autism) or mental illnesses (e.g. Bipolar) with challenging behaviors
Minimum Driving Experience: Must have a valid in-state driver’s license, be comfortable driving an 8-10 passenger van, and have a driving record with no more than 2 points within the last 3 years
Status and Availability: We're currently looking for a candidate with availability to work part time or full time Monday - Sunday 2-10pm and/or 10pm-6am
The position will require the Candidate to be at least 21 years of age (to drive for People's Care). The Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check, physical, etc. If required to drive, the candidate must possess proof of valid insurance and registration.
