1. Job Identification

  • Job Title: HR Generalist
  • Reports to: HR Manager

2. Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the day to day functions of the human resources department including but not limited to benefits and compensation administration, leave of absence administration, on-boarding, reporting, research payroll issues, employee terminations, and employee relations. This position may require up to 25% travel between locations in Visalia, CA, Northern California, and Corporate office in Chino Hills, CA.

NOTE: This position is located in Chino Hills,CA.

3. Knowledge

  • Knowledge of  CA state and federal laws
  • Knowledge of human resources principles and practices with an infuses on associate relation 
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Knowledge of HRIS & ATS systems
  • Knowledge with terminations, benefits, onboarding, and recruiting
  • Knowledge of company and department policies and procedures

4. Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in human resources or related field
  • PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the human resources field

5. Essential Functions

  • Performs benefit administration duties and responsibilities from change reporting, billing, communication of employee benefits, enrolling employee, open enrollment
  • Performs compensation administration from maintenance of compensation program, monitoring performance evaluations, and monitoring market for wage and salary competitiveness in various markets
  • Performs leave of absence administration from communication with employee to educating of management, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws
  • Intake employee relations concerns and forward to appropriate parties
  • Process and assist with employee change requests and other employee requests, as needed
  • Assist with the on-boarding process of employees to meet company goals
  • Process associations, terminations, unemployment claims, workers compensation, and garnishments
  • Respond to payroll issues as applicable
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Human Resource Manager and other management
  • Effectively communicate with employees, candidates etc. by telephone, through email system, webpage, memos, flyers etc.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions, including New Hire Orientations and other trainings
  • Maintain a working knowledge of various HR systems
  • Effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff, management, and executive team
  • Maintain records, including personnel and audit files etc.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required
  • Travel to and from Visalia, CA, and Corporate office in Chino Hill, CA

7. Physical Requirements

The Human Resource Generalist works at the corporate office location and may also be out in the field traveling to and from locations, as needed.

Frequent sitting, fingering, twisting, hearing, talking, and repetitive motions, reaching, with occasional bending, standing, walking, driving, squatting, stooping, and lifting of 25 lbs.

8. Other Requirements

Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to background check.  If required to drive, candidate must possess proof of valid driver license and insurance and registration.
