Psychiatric Technician (LPT)

LPT for Adult Residential Facility (ARF) located in Acton, CA

Status: Full Time
Schedule: Split shifts (e.g. 6-9am and 2-7pm), 2-10pm, and must be available to work at least one weekend day

The LPT is responsible to assist the Administrator with the coordination of the home so that the residents' health and safety needs are met. The House Lead assists to maintain compliance under the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 17 and Title 22 as well as the Lanterman Act (Welfare and Institutions Code). The House Lead is expected to ensure residents to maximize independence.
The LPT is responsible to monitor the health and well-being of the individuals in the adult residential facilities. To work with the behavior consultant in following the behavior plans as outlined in the individual care plan. To observe individuals for changes in conditions or behavior and report these changes to appropriate personnel. To perform gastrostomy tube feedings and administer shots to individuals when necessary.
Education and Experience
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED, LPT, CPR/FA, and CPI certification; RSO, RCFE, ARF, or GH certificates preferred
Minimum Experience: 1 year experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, 6 months supervisory experience and experience with Autism strongly preferred
Minimum Driving Experience: Must have a valid in-state driver’s license, be comfortable driving an 8-10 passenger van, be over 21, provide current registration and insurance, and have a driving record with no more than 2 points within the last 3 years.
Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan
Audit all medications, double check prescriptions to ensure that they match what’s on the medication administration record (MAR) and on the bottle
Attend to client care needs such as grooming, showering, toileting, feeding and oral hygiene
Complete and update electronic client notes entries
Performs other related duties and assignments as required
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
