Program Manager / Assistant Clinical Supervisor

2. Job Summary 

The Assistant Clinical Supervisor oversees Behavior Therapists and supervises school cases under supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. The Assistant Clinical Supervisor provides direct therapy to clients on their caseload; as well as training for parents, caregivers and teachers. 

3. Knowledge

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws
  • Knowledge of Regional Center, Department of Social Services, Department of Developmental Services, and State Council on Developmental Disabilities
  • Knowledge of dual diagnosis
  • Knowledge of Individual Program Plans
  • Clinical knowledge
  • Knowledge of behavior modification programming
  • Knowledge of human resources principles

4. Education and Experience 

  • Must have Master's Degree
  • Must maintain CPI, CPR, and First Aid certifications
  • 2-3 years experience working as a Behavior Therapist.
  • 2-3 years experience working with children age 2-18 with developmental disabilities.

5. Essential Functions 

  • Assist Clinical Supervisor, Program Manager and Director with clinical and administrative tasks 
  • Assist with developing interventions focusing on positive practices to decrease interfering behavior and increase functional skills, including creating materials for use with various behavior programs, including in-home therapy and at schools 
  • Provide ongoing training and consultation for families in the implementation of positive supports and behavioral interventions to reduce interfering behaviors, in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and their child's specific goals 
  • Assist with developing goals in a range of areas including communication, functional living skills, social skills, self-help skills, and recreational and leisure skills in consultation with the clinical supervisor 
  • Assist the clinical supervisor in the intake process, observations, and preparation of the consumer's initial behavior assessment 
  • Shadow Behavior Therapists, review progress reports and data and provide periodic reviews of Behavioral Therapists' performance, including providing on-going verbal and written feedback to Behavior Therapists 
  • Conduct Inter-Observer Agreements (IOA) to ensure accuracy of client data, coach Behavior Therapists to reduce data discrepancies 
  • Provide therapy sessions for assigned clients

7. Physical Requirements 

The Assistant Clinical Supervisor works out in the community and in clients' homes with occasional time spent in an office environment. The Assistant Clinical Supervisor may be required to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.

8. Other Requirements 

This position will require a valid California ID or Driver's License. Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to background check, physical etc. If required to drive, candidate must possess proof of valid insurance and registration. Must be at least 21 years of age to drive for People's Care.
